Sixty-one teams defied dire forecasts to compete in the ACT mid-winter 4 hour rogaine. They were blessed with relatively benign weather, but it was definitely very wet and treacherous under foot. Snow was visible on surrounding hills.

Thomas Banks and Thomas Brazier emerged as strong overall winners with 1730 points ahead of Mark Euston and James Bailie on 1640. Julie Quinn and David Baldwin finished third and took honours in the mixed with 1610. Supervets Mike Hotchkis and Neil Hawthorne came in fourth with 1550, while Laure Gauthiez Putallaz, Alice Bates and Sarah Buckerfield won the women’s open and the award for the most colourful clothes with 1450. Hannah and Alistair McClusky won the family event with 890.  Full results are at http://www.act.rogaine.asn.au/

We now look forward to the metrogaine on 16 August and the ACT 8/24 champs over 5-6 September.
