The Wildside Adventure Race is back on the North Coast of NSW, Australia, with a special edition race. Teams of 4 or 2 will have 12, 24 or 36 hours to navigate through spaces rarely visited and overcome challenges traversing demanding landscapes, moving from checkpoint to check- point by foot, mountain bike and kayak.

The race is also a new addition to the Adventure1 Australian Adventure Racing Series. The series has point’s events across Australia with the best national teams vying for the converted title of 2018 champions. Teams from Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales are already locked in. The race will be a unique mix of experienced adventure racers and first timers all exploring their limits.

With the Wildside Adventure Race now in its 5th year organisers Fully Rad Adventures are no stranger to adventure racing having competed in races across Australia and New Zealand.

“We really love the outdoors, adventure racing and are passionate about getting people outside” Race Director, Richard Old, “For WildsideAR we have taken all that we love about the sport and created a course that offers real adventure as well as promotes the Great Lakes and Manning Valley – its going to be special”

On the June long weekend teams will use map, compass together with their own wits and skills to navigate their way over an unmarked route by mountain biking, paddling, trekking, orienteering, trail running, and of course a few surprises through the spectacular MidCoast landscape. They will have to problem solve, route find and persevere over a wild course managing their resources.

“This race will have everything - challenging treks, demanding mountain biking and scenic paddle legs. The course is rich in history and stunningly beautiful. We are designing a race that will give teams a real adventure experience as well as get to know the area.”

Based in the Great Lakes Manning Valley region, on Australia’s east coast, this landscape is perfect for adventure with miles of forest tracks and trails, mountainous climbs, flowing rivers, wide lakes, endless beaches and a community that is connected to its environment. Teams can expect a warm welcome and a great experience.

If you have been searching for that next challenge or for an adventure that will create memories that will last a lifetime then the Wildside Adventure Race Special Edition is the event.
