Alpine Quest AR - Top Competition in Top Location 24-27th of January 2020

The second edition of the Australian epic expedition event, Alpine Quest Adventure Race is set for a second year of success, with early bird entries closing on the 11th of December.

The race course will offer a scenic, extremely challenging and well-thought out course, set in Alpine environment, with a special design which combines all the advantages of stage racing, with a classic expedition race. The event is held across three days, with the first day being  registration and a 3 to 6 hour prologue race in the Alpine Resort.  The second and third days will be a full on 24-hour linear expedition course, with a bus ride to the start and finish lines on the mountain.

The race Headquarters is located in the spectacular Falls Creek Alpine Resort, one of Victoria’s best resorts, on an elevation of 1700 meters and home to the ultimate summer alpine adventure.

Combining all classic adventure racing disciplines, the race course will use both topographical and improved orienteering maps, specifically designed for the event.

Top Australian team, Alpine Avengers (Jarad Kohlar, Dave Schloss, Angus Rodwell and Liz Dornom) confirmed their participation which will guarantee a competition of the highest level.

The race is international and interstate participant friendly with full logistic support and kayaks being provided as a part of the entry fee. Additional attractions are international discounts and the availability of airport transfers; inclusion of restaraunt meal; and use of satellite tracking and satellite phones, contributing to the top safety standards of all teams, due to the remoteness and wilderness of the terrain in which the course is set.

On a separate note, international competitors receive a special 15% discount incentive on their entry to encourage participation.

Supported by Falls Creek Resort management and organised with fairness to all athletes in mind, this event brings Australian Adventure racing to a different level.

The race is arranged by Melbourne-based company, Adventure Junkie, with founders Serge Kurov and Maria Plyashechko, both having more than 10 years of experience of organising races and  over 15 years’ experience participating in events, including a long list of multiple World championships in AR multisport, surf skiing, rogaines and other sports, in more than 15 countries.  Race director, Paul Gruber, joined forces with Serge and Maria, adding some ‘Aussie flavour’ to the event and sharing his wealth of event management experience.
