Augusta Adventure Fest returns for 12th stellar year

Entries are now open for the biggest adventure race in the world which will take racers through the wild landscapes of south-west Western Australia this November 4th and 5th.

The Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Fest annually attracts over 3,000 competitors to tackle the demanding off road courses that include a mixture of ocean paddling, coastal running, swimming and mountain bike legs through this pristine landscape.

The weekend includes the full distance adventure race on Sunday with a 57km course and half distance MINI adventure race with an easier, but no less spectacular 27km course.

The off-road adventure courses for both events have been refreshed for 2017 with a new leg order and changes to each discipline set to provide a new challenge for event participants.

As part of these changes, both races will start with a spectacular mass paddle start on Hardy Inlet that will see over 600 competitors start racing on their kayaks at the same time.

Sam Maffett, Rapid Ascent General Manager - the event managers, said he was excited to be bringing the 12th edition of the race to Augusta.

“Our mission is to create races on iconic courses that are both challenging and enjoyable for the go-fast athletes through to weekend warriors who simply love a competitive adventure. We believe the Augusta Adventure Fest offers all this and more.

“We love seeing the competitive rivalry, the accomplishment and the pure fun that adventure racing brings to people of all ages and backgrounds. Bring on November!”

The festival also includes the Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Junior Survivor, a 4km super fun running and obstacle adventure challenge designed especially for children aged up to 13 years of age. Every year sees a sell-out field of 900 kids who have an absolute blast as they make their way around the course, which for some is their first race.

The Act-Belong-Commit Augusta Adventure Fest is proudly presented by Healthway with the support of Mentally Healthy WA, and the State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program, which is funded by Royalties for Regions.

Augusta is an adventure paradise and the Augusta Adventure Fest is the ultimate race experience for any outdoor enthusiast and those looking for their next adventure.
