I first started coaching athletes through Sweat7 at the beginning of 2008. After having raced at an elite level for 8 years I decided immediately after the Beijing Olympic triathlon that I'd like to start putting back into the sport by helping others and the Sweat7 website began.
Coming from a teaching background with a 4 year degree in Physical Education with a focus on endurance sport and exercise physiology gained at West Sussex Institute of Higher Education (England). I then followed this up with 8 years practical experience at various secondary schools in both England and New Zealand, teaching and coaching students.
I'm proud to say I combine the knowledge gained from working with great coaches together with my own experience as an elite level triathlete and teaching professional.
In my first season of coaching others (2008/9) I not only helped numerous athletes achieve goals across events such as Half Marathons, Half Ironmans, Olympic Distance Triathlons, and Sprint Distance Triathlons but I also finished my own racing season off ranked the Number 1 Female Triathlete in the World (ITU World Cup Winner).
I love being busy, setting goals, and working toward them – hence the name 'Sweat7'. Sam Warriner – Energy, attitude, training, 7 days a week!
I'm proud of the training programs I set for others – I believe in setting each training program specifically for the needs and daily commitments of each individual athlete.
I have one guiding philosophy that underpins all planning and communication with athletes; if they are prepared to commit the time to a goal they deserve 100% commitment by me to help them reach that goal.
Last year (2014) Sweat7 coached 4 World Champions, 2 x Elite and 2 x Age Group. But it is the newbie athletes that I get the biggest kick from...there is nothing more inspiring than working with someone to complete their very first triathlon!
